Happy 4th of July!

It's a beautiful day in that it is cooler and even sprinkling lightly here in Abilene. Those are both good, refreshing and cool for this still pregnant lady. I thought for sure we were going to have her last night or this morning, since I was having fairly frequent contractions, but then I started doing something on the computer and they stopped, went to bed and had few during the night. Mom assures me that those contractions still count, that they were accomplishing something and that it will make it easier when the time comes for her arrival.

In the meantime, I'm not sure if we should head out and try to do some 4th of July stuff or what! I hate to sit around at the house, but I don't exactly want my water to break while I'm out somewhere either! We have two plans for supper depending on how the day goes. We were going to bbq unless we're at the hospital, then we have some other meat out.

Ivan is clueless as to the unfolding events, apart from the fact that he got to spend lots of time with grandpa last night while I was chilling through the contractions. The two of them seemed to have lots of fun. It's so awesome having mom and dad here to help with meals and Ivan and even fix it jobs!

I got an idea from mom since she wanted some vegetable juice. Ivan loves juice, but not vegetables, so maybe he'd like vegetable juice? I got the camera in case it was humorous and it was!

I drink low sodium V-8 quite a bit to get my vegetables in.
Very funny faces on Ivan's part.
Good video.
Hope the day progresses well.

It sounds like she's in the early stages of her grand debut...keep us posted! You could still have a 4th of July baby!

I'm lucky that Harrison loves his veggies and I've never had to trick him! I'm sure you've tried it all, but here are some suggestions just in case!

Cheese~melt (lots of) any kind of cheese over top & mix it in really well with cooked veggies

Dip~give him dressing to dip his raw veggies in & let him make a big mess!

Re-name it~I call broccoli "vitamin trees" & he loves it!

Sweeten it up~I know it's not great, but in the end if he's eating them isn't that the point?! Add brown sugar to cooked carrots (yum!) and my favorite marshmellows & brown sugar to turnips! Just make sure he brushes his teeth before bed!

Water it down~did you try to water down the veggie juice so it wouldn't taste so strong? I still water down Harrison's fruit juice! (also cheaper that way!)

My last hint~buy SunRype Fruit Plus Veggie juice by the case, it's 100% juice (not that cocktail/punch/beverage stuff) and includes 2 servings of fruits & veggies, plus Vit A & C. Great way to get those essentials in on the go! Stawberry Banana is our fave!

Now good luck....with the veggies and the new sister deal!!!

Mix it...fruits and veggies...throw a banana in any juice and it becomes fruity!

I was always so scared my water would break out in public! Luckily for me the doctor had to do that for me!

She'll come at just the right time...go enjoy your day...however that is!

Thanks for the hints! I did notice that if I diluted the vegetable juice with lots of apple juice, he drank it some. I used to make sweet potatoe oatmeal for him. And he loves soups. But we just do those in the winter. Do you think his winter store of veggies can count through the summer? ha, ha.

I told dad that when the day arrives he has to let us post from this blog first, that if I deliver, I get first dibs at getting the news out, even if someone else has to do it. So the ground breaking news will come here first!
