Typical Saskatchewan

While Saturday was cold, windy and overcast, Sunday was hot and sunny. A perfect day for our previous days plans. Typically Saskatchewan. We got to take in a bit of the Jazz festival downtown. It was so fun. A carpet of people sitting out enjoying the music, dancing and visiting, people out on seadoos, kids at the river landing water park, bikers going up and down the trails, some brave youths jumping, diving and backflipping off of railings or docks into the river, dogs on leashes, face painting and friendly fun. Ivan kept asking when it was his turn to dance in front of the observant crowds. Auntie took him up, so did mommy and daddy (although daddy found a more secluded and intimate setting for their spinning shinanigans). I loved watching young and old, people of all different races, nationalities and personaes come together to celebrate beauty, and music. Everyone slowing down to just BE. Enjoy life, living and others.

I forget how you can wear anything here in the summer. It was warm enough for some women to be in bikini tops or some men to go shirtless, others were in jeans, some in dresses. 24 hours later, it was cold and rainy again.

This week is visit week. We are trying to see many friends here in Saskatoon before heading to Fort Qu'appelle, Saskatchewan where we will get to stay with some of my cousins.
