Snaps: quirky vol. 15 part 2

This scenario was not staged. Ivan must have been missing his daddy or just wanted to play dress up. He had dragged his daddy's work shoes and work "hat" out and was trying to walk in the shoes. I found him after hearing his frustrated cries. "No, Ivan, size 10 men's shoes do not fit or move quite like your little size 5 toddler shoes". He was very angry at the way the shoes would not move with him.

It's a little funny how he will get angry at the wrong things. He was trying to help me mop one day, which was pretty frustrating for both of us, but easier than trying to keep him out of the kitchen, when he slipped on a wet spot. Instantly the tears came and this fierce anger. He hit me and yelled at me like I had played a mean prank and made him slip on purpose. I tried not to laugh, but he looked like a little teenager. Is that really what was going on those icky teen years?

Saba has recognized that Dominique has ball throwing potential. She kept giving the ball to Dominique after Ivan and I took our turns throwing it. Saba is so fair that way. If she could only talk, I'd put her in charge of kids sports teams: everyone gets to play, no matter how small and incapable they may seem... some day, they will amaze us.

Some more funny Ivan sayings: Saba is called "baba", Smacky is "snaynay" and Dominique is "maymay".

We had fun coloring. I'm hoping we get rain, but if it continues like this summer and not this past weeked, these markings could be there until spring. We may not get wet, but our porch will be cheery ;)

I love you dog you know. Although she was a bit upset the first time we met. But she is such a great dog, being so careful with the kids and so fair too. Just lovely.

Saba is like that with Everyone she meets the first time. She likes to act tough, but part of it is that she is too excited thinking she may have a new play partner. It makes it bad when we have guests, but she does scare away people who shouldn't be snooping around.
