They are easier to detect after the fact. They are uncanny encounters, brushes with the supernatural, where the presence of the Lover accompanies us in a very real way, sheltering, directing, loving, moving, giving life to our everyday existence. You can't totally explain the experience, but you leave shaken to the very depths, knowing that you have been kissed by the Divine.

we went on a walk
One of Brian's former college roomates, Steve lives in Abilene and has 3 kids about our kid's ages. His wife, Wendy also came to water aerobics class a few times when she was expecting their twins- (about Dominique's age). Their older son is some months older than Ivan. We all went on a walk down some bike trails near their house and I started taking pictures of things we will not see in Saskatchewan- like the flowering cactus, scorpion and scraggly mesquite trees. We were in an area that also has rattlesnakes, but fortunately I was not able to spot any.
Yesterday was wonderful, got to meet up with some friends, filled the pool for the kids and didn't pack a single thing ;)

Personally I think it's a good thing there aren't any scorpions in Sask!
Now isn't that a beautiful cactus flower! Almost as beautiful as those little children. Every region seems to have "creatures" you need to be aware of when you are crossing their territory.
great pictures
I'll have to show you my yellow cactus at the side of our house. Not sure it will flower this year because of all the rain.Love you mom
