They are easier to detect after the fact. They are uncanny encounters, brushes with the supernatural, where the presence of the Lover accompanies us in a very real way, sheltering, directing, loving, moving, giving life to our everyday existence. You can't totally explain the experience, but you leave shaken to the very depths, knowing that you have been kissed by the Divine.

Beaver Creek
Beaver Creek is a nature conservation area. It has an educational center and trails to walk and be out in nature. In practical terms, it was the place dad would bring 3 energetic kids when mom was trying to sleep after coming off her night shift, since keeping us quiet was impossible.
The kids enjoyed the animal costumes, puppets and stages. The were not as enthusiastic about the actual nature part, like observing the natural bushes, trees, flowers and stopping to smell the roses, which I did often while the kids raced down the trails. At one point, all of us were racing, when the bush got thick and the moskitoes came out with a vengence. There were also jokes along the way on cards. The kids thought that was great fun. The joke they liked the most is dedicated to our friend Isaiah... What do you call a skunk that can fly?
Are you stumped? It's a smellocopter. Yeah, the perfect joke for toddlers. They laughed for quite a while with that one. On the way out of the area, we thought we saw deer, and then discovered they were wild elk. I forgot to upload that pic, but maybe I can when we are back home.

Next time we will have to take them on the longer route. I think that is on the longer one that you can see where the beaver dig caves in the side of the bank. (The stream is too small for them to build a beaver house located at one of their dams.)
