Dominique had a halloween party the Saturday before the big day. Can you guess which one she is? All the babies at the party were from the water aerobics class I do. There were about 15 of us pregnant together and we continue to get together on occasion.
Our painted pumpkins underwent their next to final transformation Halloween day. They were cut and lighted through the night. I love the look of a lighted pumpkin.
Dominique was a pink poodle, but was often mistaken for a lamb.
Ivan was Thomas the train. His costume was a bit difficult when we went to a carnival with games. He took it off and had a blast in a jumpy castle, but was too shy to do much of anything else. We walked our block and he joyfully called out trick-or-treat, but was terrified of our neighbor who dressed up as witches and kept calling to him. He was also scared of lots of older kids who looked like werewolfs (Ivan thought it was a dinosaur).
The funniest part of the night was when Dominque heard a dog bark and started barking back at it in her dog attire. Ivan also got into his character when he got tons of compliments on his costume and cried out "wooo oooo". He was like a famous person at the carnival. Everyone was calling out- "look, there's Thomas the train!".
Now Dominique wants to wear the costume. It is either an elaborate costume or someone's for next year. I should put it up, so it won't get destroyed and someone can use it, but they are having so much fun still with it.
The pumpkins are now pureed mush in the freezer. We already had some in our oatmeal (which tasted horrid- but I grinned through mine, since the kids were gobbling it up). With the leftovers from that I added banana today, and it was wonderful.
We have candy frozen and more than enough potty rewards.

oh what fun!!!! what a great thomas costume!
Those are the cutest Halloween costumes ever. You need to save Thomas the Train. To cute to not be used again. What a talented mom. Brian, Ivan and Dominique are truly fortunate to have you. It looks like they made a great candy haul.
So how does he hold the candy bag if he has to be holding such a big costume?
Dad- he could hold it all right, but couldn't open it up for people. The train rested on his shoulders and had hatches in front of his arms to help him get out. (figured that part out when I first got it on him and couldn't retract him!
